The Topeka pageant had the honor of sending two outstanding young ladies to compete at Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant for Kansas, held in Wichita.

Teen Topeka 2008 Lindsay Johnson

Lindsay Johnson is from Topeka.  She previously attended Topeka Collegiate School and is now in the 8th grade at Washburn Rural Middle School.  Lindsay is part Hawaiian, part Samoan, and part Caucasian.  She was born of royalty and adopted by her American parents.  Her father is in the investment field and her mother is a Registered Nurse; Lindsay has two younger brothers.  Lindsay has many interests, including crafts, sewing, cooking, and music.  Her favorite pursuit is dance.  She has done tap, jazz, and ballet for several years.  She has performed in Ballet Midwest’s “Nutcracker” and other productions for many seasons.  Lindsay has lived in both Kansas and Hawaii and has traveled all around the world.  Her goals include continuing with her dance, earning her high school and college diplomas, and entering a profession like medicine or psychiatry.  Lindsay is outgoing, happy, witty, and creative.  She loves people and makes friends easily.  People love her, too!  

Leslie Carillo lives in Wichita and attends Kapun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School  where she is the freshman class secretary, a member of the school dance squad, and taking all honors classes. Leslie takes dance class at a local studio and participates in dance competitions around the state. She is also a wonderful singer and performed a vocal solo for the talent competition.
